KINGMAN – Housing for Hope, an affiliate of Catholic Charities Community Services, has received $4.5 million in funding commitment to purchase and convert a motel in Kingman into affordable, transitional housing for those experiencing extreme poverty and homelessness. The grant was allocated by the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) State Fiscal Recovery Funds from the American Rescue Plan (SFRF-ARP). The program is in response to the disproportionate impact caused by the COVID-19 public health emergency and funds the conversion of hotel units into transitional bridge housing for homeless individuals and families.     The Route 66 Motel, located at 2939 E. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Havasu Youth Advisory Council partners with Sunland Asphalt and Construction, through Lake Havasu City native, Greg Hughes, to help the Echo Group Band of Brothers Arizona organization with their initiative to start a veteran softball league in the area. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Veterans Thrift Store stays true to their slogan, “Leave no veteran behind,” as the store has been of service to veterans for almost eight years.  The family-owned business used to have two store locations in Lake Havasu on Acoma Boulevard and Empire Drive.   The need to support veterans of the community was so strong that they eventually combined the stores into one location at 2130 Price Drive in Lake Havasu.
