New ground on the horizon

KINGMAN – On the morning of August 26th, Horizon Community Bank held a groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the expansion of their Kingman branch. Several members of HCB’s senior offices—including HCB’s CFO Ross Johnson and CEO/President Ralph Tapscott—met with Kingman officials to commemorate the new project’s beginning. Becky Fawson of the Kingman Chamber of Commercce and Jo Ann Oxsen of the Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club were also in attendance, expressing the community’s excitement about the project. Second Laughlin/Bullhead bridge set for construction

LAUGHLIN/BULLHEAD CITY -A second Colorado River bridge linking the communities of Bullhead City in Arizona and Laughlin in Nevada should be under construction within three months, if not sooner. “We’re looking closely at dates for ground breaking and that’s going to be announced soon,” said Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft, whose District A includes Laughlin. “More specifically, my expectation is that on site work will begin before the end of November.” Naft credited former senator Harry Reid of Nevada for securing a federal earmark for nearly $21 million to help fund construction of the four lane, 724′ span. The Governor’s Office is now accepting applications from residents in 11 of Arizona’s 15 counties who are interested in serving on the state’s Game and Fish Commission. County receives patent from BLM for 6-acre Beaver Dam parcel

MOHAVE COUNTY – County Public Works Director Steven Latoski was presented with the patent for a 5.95-acre parcel of land in the community of Beaver Dam, Arizona, on Aug 26 by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Arizona Strip District Manager Michael Herder.
