MOHAVE COUNTY – President and founder of SheStrong Inc. Brandy Ramirez is reaching out and inviting kids, ages 6 through 13, in Mohave County to come out and participate in SheStrong’s first ever USAT Youth Splash and Dash event on August 5 at Centennial Community Park in Kingman. It is a free event for all kids who wish to participate. KINGMAN – Rebekah Sherwood, head coach of Lee Williams’ Lady Vols golf team, is starting her second year at the helm, but with the added challenge of also head coaching the Volunteers boy’s golf team concurrently. 2022 was Sherwood’s first year as the Lady Vols head coach. A Kingman Bulldog alumni and golf stand out herself, Sherwood stepped up for the Lady Vols golf team when the previous head coach stepped down leaving the girl’s golf team without a head coach. BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Municipal pool, the splash pad at Ken Fovargue Park, and the Splash Pad at the Community Park Family Fun Zone, are all closed until further notice.   “We’re seeing lighting in the area, and we have closed our water amenities to keep the public safe,” said Parks and Recreation Superintendent David Heath. “We’ll reopen the amenities as soon as the lighting subsides, and we feel it is safe to reopen.”
