Man dies in shed fire

YUCCA – A deadly fire in the community of Yucca is under investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Dispatch received a call reporting the fire in the 1700 block of La Cienega Ranch Rd. at about 8:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27. “Deputies arrived on scene and observed two sheds fully engulfed by flames,” said MCSO public information officer Anita Mortensen. “Personnel from the Golden Valley Fire District responded to the scene and after the fire was extinguished, a deceased victim was located in one of the sheds.” Mortensen said the female homeowner advised that her male roommate…

Fatal ATV accident under investigation

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A fatal All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) accident is under investigation in Lake Havasu City. Public Safety officials responded at about 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28 to a desert area north of Paso De Oro Drive. “The first arriving rescue unit reported a single fatality and no other injuries,” a press release said. Mohave County Sheriff’s office and AMR personnel also responded to the incident.

KINGMAN – The Kingman Office of Tourism and Economic Development is calling on photographers worldwide to participate in the 2024 Kingman Billboard Leap-year Photo Contest throughout February. The contest seeks images that showcase Kingman’s key attractions: Route 66, History, and Outdoor Recreation. The City of Kingman will award three grant prize winners, one for each category, with the opportunity to have their winning photos displayed prominently on 48’ wide billboards along Interstate 40 and Highway 93 (Future Interstate 11).
