KINGMAN – In spite of downtown road construction, crowds of people lined the streets along the shortened route for the annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown Kingman on Saturday, November 11. With 38 entries, there was something for everyone, including restored military and other antique vehicles, political candidates, first responders, Girl Scouts, 4H, Mohave County Sheriff, Mohave County Search and Rescue and Volunteer Posse and, of course, plenty of candy being thrown to the crowd. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City community had the opportunity to celebrate Veterans Day early while listening to various musical genres of the Jazz Ambassadors. The 19-piece ensemble has received many praises from the U.S. and overseas. With their big band sound, the group performs contemporary, vocal solo performances, and patriotic favorites.  The band performed original, new and old tunes. They have performed in every U.S. state as well as Europe, Japan, India, Mexico, and Canada as well as in joint concerts with notable acts such the Boston Pops. KINGMAN – There is a new King in the town of Kingman! Salvador Gomez has been crowned the 2022 Arizona TOPS King. Taking Pounds Off Sensibly or TOPS for short, is a weight Loss support organization that aims to help individuals reach their health goals and shed unwanted pounds by teaching lifestyle changes that last for a lifetime. 48th Annual Cancer Care Arts and Crafts Fair sees vigorous attendance

KINGMAN – The Kingman Cancer Care Unit’s (KCCU) Annual Arts and Crafts Fair and raffle held Saturday and Sunday was well attended.  The fair and raffle is the major fundraiser annually for the group, which was formed in 1975 and is a 501(c)(3) organization.  Their goal is to provide assistance to Kingman area residents in their fight against cancer. This past year KCCU provided $93,313.00 in assistance to patients in need, up from last year’s $75,578.00   Assistance includes medicine, rent, utilities, travel and lodging, medical equipment and miscellaneous expenses.  All the money that is raised remains in Mohave County except…

Yacht Club hosts Casino Night fundraiser

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Casino Night at the Lake Havasu Yacht Club was this past Saturday, Nov 11 at the Havasu Yacht Club.  This was a fundraising event for the Mohave County Boating Safety Program whose mission is to provide boating safety to the community through education and volunteer opportunities.  It was in 1969 when three enthusiasts of boating thought they should form a yacht club.
