Adopt a pet during Festival of the Arts

KINGMAN – Friends of Mohave County Animal Shelter volunteers will have puppies and dogs from the shelter available for adoption at Rt 66 Rotary Club Festival of the Arts on Saturday, May 11  and Sunday, May12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Metcalfe Park, 315 W. KINGMAN – The KRMC Foundation will host its annual Mary Chan’s Route 66 Race for Hospice on Saturday, May 11. The first race will begin promptly at 7:15 a.m. Proceeds from this event will help fund the ongoing operating expenses of the Joan & Diana Hospice Home in Kingman. The hospice home provides end-of-life care to individuals and offers respite services to their families. Pickering takes state gold in 100 meter

KINGMAN –Lee Williams High School (LWHS) senior Wyatt Pickering won the 800-meter race and a state championship at the Arizona Division III Track and Field meet in Phoenix last weekend. The 18-year-old used a powerful kick finish to pull past the field for gold in 1:54.73. “These past few weeks I’ve been dialing in on my last 150 meters. I left it all out there and it definitely showed,” Pickering told Runner Space. BULLHEAD CITY – The 73rd Annual Burro BBQ went off like clockwork last weekend with hundreds of guests attending the annual event that helps kick off the summer season. Light the Night event sees 25 years

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Last week the Lake Havasu Fire Administration honored fallen firefighters with a five-day Light the Night tribute. The homage began on Wednesday, May 1 and ended on Sunday, May 5 at dusk at the Lake Havasu Fire Department Administration location, the London Bridge, and residents along with local businesses also participated in this nightly event.   The honoring was inspired by the National Fallen Firefighters tradition which was established 25 years ago.
