Craft fair vendors sought

Greater Grace Fellowship, a non-profit Christian teaching ministry, is seeking arts and crafts, food, and merchant vendors for its upcoming summer fairs in Arizona. The first this year being April 12 through 14 in Cottonwood; then May 25 through 27 in Payson; Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 in Payson. An additional fair is being developed in the White Mountain area for the Fourth of July weekend. Carter trial begins; charged with possession of drugs, weapons offenses

Attorneys presented opening statements in record time as trial in Kingman opened Tuesday for a Mohave Valley man facing drug and weapons related charges. Prosecutor Jaimye Ashley and defense attorney Melissa Barry spent less than five minutes addressing the jury at the start of trial for Joseph Carter, 42. Carter is charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and two misconduct involving weapons counts. Ashley said a December 2016 search of a shed outside Carter’s home produced the seizure of numerous little baggies containing small amounts of methamphetamine, some of them holding just residue. Luv of Paws hosts yard sale fundraiser, open house

For the Luv of Paws Domestic Animal Rescue & Sanctuary will host their 12th Annual Open House and Yard Sale Saturday and Sunday, March 30 and 31 at 8115 W. Oatman Hwy. Hours for Saturday are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For the Luv of Paws encourages the public to come out to support their non-profit efforts, tour the facility, meet and interact with dogs, cats, and ferrets. Former Judge Weiss appointed as PDO interim administrator

Retirement didn’t last very long for former Mohave County Superior Court Judge Richard Weiss. After hanging up his robe and setting aside his gavel just three months ago, the former Bullhead City resident who currently resides in Kingman begins a new job with Mohave County in Kingman next Monday. County Manager Mike Hendrix confirmed that Weiss will become the interim administrator of the Mohave County Public Defenders Office (PDO), succeeding Alex Bolobonoff.
