Women dead after being struck by vehicle

A pedestrian was fatally injured early Tuesday when struck by a vehicle in Dolan Springs. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office said Patricia McElrath, 58, Dolan Springs, was dead at the scene of the collision.

Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said deputies responded at 4:40 a.m. to the incident. She said the driver was westbound when he struck McElrath in the vicinity of Pierce Ferry road and 4th street.

“The driver advised he did not see McElrath in the roadway until the time of the collision and she was not wearing any type of reflective material,” Mortensen said. “Speed or impairment do not appear to be a factor in this collision.”

Accident investigation continues.
