Sounds of Kingman’s second free concert in their summer series has been rescheduled due to rain. Come out to see the music group Lonesome Dick on Sunday, June 2 at 4 p.m. in Metcalfe Park, corner of Beale and Grandview, in downtown Kingman. The concert is sponsored by Taco Bell.
All city offices and facilities, Aquatic/Community Center, and Havasu Mobility are closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. As always, police and fire personnel are on duty, however, administrative offices are closed. Trash and recycling services are not interrupted. All City offices resume normal schedules on Tuesday, May 28.
The Arizona Military Order of Devil Dog Charities is making great progress in raising funds to restore the World War I monument located at the Mohave County courthouse in downtown Kingman. Donations, large and small, are being received from individuals, businesses and civic/veteran organizations from all over Mohave County. Work will soon be underway to install an exact bronze replica of the machine gun that was stolen from the monument sometime in the late 1990s. Also enhanced landscaping, lighting and improved surveillance equipment will add to repair work on the deteriorating stonework of the monument. Plans are being made for…

A multiple fatality traffic accident closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 ten miles southwest of Kingman at 9:06 a.m. Friday. The Department of Public Safety said a wrong-way driving incident led to the head on collision at milepost 36. DPS said at least four people were dead at the scene of the accident. A fifth person died following transport to Kingman Regional Medical Center. One westbound lane was reopened to traffic just before noon. Names of the victims are withheld pending notification of kin and the accident is under investigation.
UniSource Energy Services electric customers will enjoy summer bill savings that average more than $21 per month thanks to reduced natural gas and power prices. The Arizona Corporation Commission approved UniSource’s request to apply an energy cost credit of 1.85 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to its electric bills from June 1 to Sept. 30.
