An international team of paleontologists has united to study important fossil footprints recently discovered in a remote location within Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. A large sandstone boulder contains several exceptionally well-preserved trackways of primitive tetrapods (four-footed animals) which inhabited an ancient desert environment. The 280-million-year-old fossil tracks date to almost the beginning of the Permian Period, prior to the appearance of the earliest dinosaurs. The Bullhead City Police Department’s Waterways Unit will begin patrolling the Colorado River this Memorial Holiday Weekend and would like to remind residents and visitors to be safe around water this summer. The Bullhead City Police and Fire Departments, Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, Mohave County Parks and the City of Bullhead City have kicked off the “Don’t Wreck Your Weekend” campaign to promote boating safety.  The Bullhead City Police Department responds to approximately 50 watercraft accidents every summer on the river. Caitlyn Roseborough, of Golden Valley, qualified for the Spring 2019 Dean’s List at Belmont University. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
