BLM seeks nominations to Arizona Resource Advisory Council

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced that it is seeking public nominations for positions on 31 Resource Advisory Councils (RACs) nationwide, including Arizona’s RAC. These citizen-based committees assist in the development of recommendations that address public land management issues. The BLM maintains 38 such advisory committees formally chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) and the Federal Policy and Land Management Act (FLPMA) across the West. Of those committees, 31 are RACs and the remainder site or subject-specific Advisory Councils. Second Macroinvertebrate Production Flow underway at Glen Canyon Dam

The Department of the Interior will conduct a second Macroinvertebrate Production Flow this summer at Glen Canyon Dam under its Long-Term Experimental and Management Plan. This experiment, also known as a Bug Flow, aims to improve egg-laying conditions for aquatic insects that are the primary food source for fish in the Colorado River. Nearly 3-hour Golden Shores outage was easily preventable

Mohave Electric Cooperative crews worked diligently on April 26 afternoon to restore power to Golden Shores members after a kite became entangled in power lines. The VFW has two fund raising yard sales each year, the next taking place May 10 and 11, from 8:00 a.m. until Noon, to benefit Veterans Programs. The Fall Yard Sale helps to fund our contributions for the Boulder City, NV State VA Home residents’ Christmas Wish Lists. All of the residents give a list of 3 items they would like to have. Large or small, they try to fulfill their every wish each year. The money also goes toward the Community Christmas food boxes to make certain everyone in their community has a meal over the Christmas season. Festival of the Arts slated for May 11-12

The 41st annual Festival of the Arts will be returning to Metcalfe Park, Kingman. Saturday, May 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local artisans will display their creations including paintings, ceramics, photography, and jewelry. Live musical entertainment will be provided by Leonard Interior, Black Lemon, Casey Frank, Ken Kordes, Monte Neil, and belly dancing throughout the weekend.
