Mohave County Fair to be held Sept. 12 – 15

KINGMAN – Come and join in on the fun and excitement at the Mohave County Fair Thursday, Sept. 12 through Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Mohave County Fairgrounds, 2600 Fairgrounds Blvd. There will be fair livestock and crafts exhibits, live entertainment, tons of vendors, carnival and much more! Zoning Ordinance Update Community Workshop set

KINGMAN – Lisa Wise Consulting, Inc. (LWC) has been selected by the City of Kingman to review, evaluate, provide recommendations, and update the city’s Zoning Ordinance. The estimated schedule assumes this work will be completed by December 2020. City staff has been working with LWC since early July 2019 on the initial stakeholder interviews and initial audit of the current Zoning Ordinance with recommendations for the updated Zoning Ordinance. No injuries in residential house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, Lake Havasu City fire crews were called to investigate a strong smell of smoke in the 2700 block of Diablo Drive. Citizens reported a burning smell in the area. A crew from Fire Station 1 investigated and found smoke coming from a small single-story house. One ladder truck, three fire engines, and a battalion chief responded to the fire and gained control within 45 minutes. There were no occupants at the time of the fire. Falls Prevention Day is Sept. 23

WACOG volunteer coordinator Melinda Kemp accepts a proclamation Tuesday evening, Sept. 3, from City of Kingman Mayor Jen Miles. The document proclaims “Falls Prevention Awareness Day” to be Monday, Sept. 23. WACOG, in conjunction with other area agencies will host a fall prevention event on that day at the Kingman Community Center, 3345 Harrison St. The event is open to the public. Vice mayor charged in theft case; hearing is Thursday

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Vice Mayor Annette Wegmann has been charged with theft in a dispute over furnishings that were removed from a condo managed by a company that formerly employed her. Wegmann faces arraignment in Mohave County Superior Court in Kingman Thursday. The initial investigation started with a Bullhead City Police detective who handed the matter off to Lake Havasu City Police, due to the conflict of interest.
