Fire equipment stolen from truck

The Kingman Police Department is investigating theft of equipment from a U.S. Forest Service work crew. The unit has been stationed in Kingman for several weeks to be ready for dispatch to wildfire battles in the southwest region. Crew members discovered that someone broke into their Ford F-550 fire response vehicle while it was parked at a hotel in the 1700 block of Sycamore Avenue. Muhle steps down as Kingman City Clerk

Kingman City Clerk Sydney Muhle is stepping down. Muhle said she is resigning her position to be a stay at home mom. Muhle began her city career in the summer of 2005 and was promoted to deputy city clerk eight years later. She was elevated to clerk in February, 2014. “My time with the city has been wonderful. I’ve had the honor of working with a fantastic team,” Muhle said. Man dies after crashing truck

A Kingman man has died of injuries sustained in a Friday night traffic accident. The victim is identified as Charlie Gross, 36. Deputy Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said investigators determined that Gross was northbound on Cantle Drive when he failed to negotiate a curve and the Ford F-250 truck he was operating struck a block wall at the intersection of Gordon Drive and Gordon Bay at about 11:00 p.m.  “Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash,” Cooper said. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County is implementing outdoor fire and permissible consumer fireworks use prohibitions on private and public lands in the unincorporated areas of the county, effective 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019, due to the very high fire danger caused by extremely dry vegetation, lack of monsoon precipitation, and a significant increase in recent fire ignitions and fire service responses. City of Kingman issues burn ban

The Mohave County Board of Supervisors has issued Stage 2 fire restrictions within the entire county. Based on this direction, the City of Kingman is instituting a fire burn ban effective immediately. The ban includes the prohibition of the sale of consumer fireworks as addressed in House Bill 1158. The ban also resends any open burn permits issued by the city of Kingman within the last 30 days. No burn permit applications will be accepted until further notice.
