USGS Aquifer Study Due in 2020

KINGMAN  – In 2017, the City of Kingman and Mohave County entered into an agreement to both equally fund a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) at the cost of $400,000. The scientific study will show estimates of the potential effects of groundwater withdrawals from the Hualapai Valley Basin using a variety of withdrawal scenarios that will be provided to the USGS by the County, City, and other partners that will assist in the long range planning and future water development. County to fog for mosquitos

Mohave County – Mosquito surveillance conducted this week in Mohave Valley by the Mohave County Environmental Health Division (MCEHD) revealed the following locations that met the protocol to conduct fogging.  The MCEHD uses the CDC’s recommended matrix as a guide of when to fog.  FOGGING: Adult mosquito control application will begin on Thursday evening August 15th around 8:00 pm, weather permitting.  Baron Pest Control was awarded the contract to provide fogging services within Mohave County and will be conducting the ground fogging application.  Areas in Mohave Valley to fog include:  · South of Gordon Drive to East King Street, and east and west between Mohave…

Ruby Dishneau: Century Woman

KINGMAN – On August 10, Ruby Dishneau celebrated her 100-year birthday with approximately 250 people. Most of these people were a part of the six generations of family, including more than 150 of Ruby’s grandchildren. With the oldest grandchild at age 63 and the youngest at only four months old, Ruby was surrounded by a diverse group of loving and proud individuals. MOHAVE COUNTY – Situated just north of I-40 in the high-desert area of Golden Valley, between Yucca and Kingman, there’s a 717-acre parcel of land surrounded by a very tall chain-link fence.
