BULLHEAD, Ariz. – Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) is proud to announce five student winners for MEC’s 2026 Scholarship Program. A total of twenty-seven applications were received, up from last year’s submissions.
Thanks to MEC’s executive leadership, students in MEC’s service area attending a higher education institution this fall semester were eligible to apply for assistance. A panel of judges selected five student winners: Conner Boggs, attending Mohave College; Laisyc Conlogue, attending University of Southern California; Savanah Furr, attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Prescott; Emily Osuna, attending Northern Arizona University; and Kimberly Osuna, attending Arizona State University. Each of the five students received a $2,000 scholarship, for a total of $10,000. Savanah Furr was previously awarded an MEC Scholarship in 2025. MEC encourages any students or adults pursuing higher education to apply next year. Previous recipients are welcome to reapply each year as long as they remain enrolled in an eligible program.
“Supporting education is one of the many ways Mohave Electric Cooperative invests in the future of the communities we serve,” said CEO Tyler Carlson. “We congratulate this year’s scholarship recipients on their hard work and dedication, and we’re honored to play a small part in helping them pursue their educational and career goals.”
Carlson envisioned a supplementary, MEC-awarded college scholarship, and put into action an investment fund for member education programs. These funds are held separately from rates and are ear-marked for community projects benefiting MEC members. This annual scholarship is in addition to the thousands of dollars provided for other MEC educational programs including Mohave College (MC) student scholarships, MEC’s Classroom Grants, Washington Youth Tour, Making Accidents Disappear elementary school magic show, SunWatts Renewable Energy Education Grant, and the partnership with Western Governor’s University (WGU). Education, Training, and Information are part of the seven Cooperative Principles upheld by MEC to support the future of even the youngest of our members.
