Mental Health First Aid training offered

KINGMAN – Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) is offering a free Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health First Aid for Older Adults training course on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, 600 E. Beale St. Mental Health First Aid is a free eight-hour course that teaches how to help someone who is developing a mental health issue or experiencing a mental health crisis. Rollover claims life of Kingman man

KINGMAN – A Kingman man died Wednesday following a September 15 traffic accident in Bullhead City. Police department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt identified the man who died of his injuries at University Medical Center in Las Vegas as Jamie Joseph Barr, 35. Fromelt said police responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident at 1:20 a.m. at Highway 68 and McCormick Boulevard. She said Barr was westbound on the highway when he lost control and was ejected when the vehicle rolled at the bottom of a dirt embankment. A medical helicopter flew Barr to Las Vegas. Expect traffic delays due to homecoming parade

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Police Department would like to notify residents of expected traffic delays on Friday, September 20 for Mohave High School’s 50th Anniversary Homecoming Parade. The parade will kick-off at 10 a.m. from the corner of Gemstone Avenue and Langford Drive and continue east on Hancock Road to the Mohave High School parking lot, east of Trane Road. The parade is expected to last approximately one hour. Portions of Hancock Road will be blocked off during this time; however, sections on Hancock Road will reopen once the parade passes through.

Crash at intersection non-life-threatening

KINGMAN – On Monday, September 16, at 1:55 p.m., Kingman Police (KPD) investigated an injury crash on Harrison St. near Kingman Ave. According to a KPD press release, a 2016 Dodge truck, driven by a 63-year-old Mohave Valley man was turning left onto Kingman Ave. into the path of a 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 29-year-old Kingman man, was unable to avoid the collision, crashing into the right side of the truck.
