New college president looks to enhance community aspect of Mohave Community College

Dr. Stacy Klippenstein began reaching out to local communities before he even officially started as the new president of Mohave Community College on July 1. City of Kingman, Foggin, wants to get bond for Interchange project

Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin outlined the anticipated funding partnership for the Rancho Santa Fe Interchange and Parkway project at a June 20 news conference. Foggin said the state of Arizona, the City of Kingman, and the private sector plan to share in the infrastructure investment projected in excess of $46-million. Legislation that local representative Regina Cobb helped bring to fruition commits $20-million in state funding for the initiative. Mohave County has formally taken over the animal shelter

The Kingman animal shelter formerly operated under contract with the Western Arizona Humane Society (WAHS) is transitioned to Mohave County management. The switchover occurred Monday as the former contract expired with the start of the new fiscal year. The county retained Nicole Mangiameli who will manage the operation as Animal Care Supervisor. She said all 13 employees who worked for WAHS keep their jobs under the county regime. “I have a large laundry list of new things do, along with new protocols and I’m loving every minute,” Mangiameli said. BOS approves Ft. Mohave zoning exemption

Mohave County Supervisors voted Monday to approve rezoning that will allow a couple to construct a garage on their Fort Mohave property before they build their home on the same site. The Board’s 5-0 vote of approval essentially overturned the denial recommendation of the county planning and zoning commission. Development Services Director Tim Walsh explained that the 1.25 acre parcel south of Sundance Drive and east of Nicholas Drive carries an R-O/A zoning designation requiring that homes be built before auxiliary structures. City of Kingman adopts Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Budget

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman City Council voted June 18, 2019, to adopt the 2019-2020 Fiscal Year Budget, which began its implementation July 1.
