MOHAVE COUNTY – For some Mohave County drivers, it will be “smooth sailing” and less wear and tear on their vehicles due to a recent approval of an agenda item by the Board of Supervisors at their monthly meeting. The County’s Road Division currently maintains more than 2,000 miles of roads of which 802.96 miles are paved. However, because of the recent approval by the Board of Supervisors, more than 30 more miles will receive soil stabilization and/or construction starting in the fiscal year 2019-2020. Golden Valley Fire District Fire Chief David Cunningham administers the oath during the swearing-in ceremony to Kevin Gifford upon his promotion from engineer to captain at the recent GVFD board meeting. Captain Gifford began his employment with GVFD during September 2011 and was previously was a firefighter with Pinion Pines Fire District prior to being employed by GVFD. He is the GVFD Wildland Coordinatitor and runs the pay on call and volunteer firefighters programs.
