MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County conducted a job fair in late August in an effort to generate interest in scores of vacant positions. County Manager Sam Elters told the Board of Supervisors Monday that more than 130 positions remain open within the organization and that the county had difficulty in sparking interest and applications before the job fair held in Kingman. “We attracted a little over 130 people and that generated 100 applications,” Elters said of the job fair during the Board meeting in Kingman. “Just about every department participated and had someone present. Davis Camp upgrades approved

BULLHEAD CITY – Additional American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) expenditures approved during Monday’s Mohave County Board of Supervisors meeting in Kingman. Supervisor Hildy Angius gained swift approval for proposed allocations to improve the county-owned and operated Davis Camp Park on the north end of Bullhead City. Angius is committing more than $2.1 million of the $8 million in ARPA funds allotted to District 2 for the park that sometimes hosts 28,000 people during peak summertime visitation. “I’m glad that we’re going to be addressing some of these issues that have been plaguing Davis Camp for many years,” Angius said. $1.86 million is earmarked for a range of…

MCC welding building unveiled with ribbon-cutting

BULLHEAD CITY – Current and future welding students on the Mohave Community College Bullhead campus now get to enjoy their new building. Friday a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to show the new 2,000 square-foot multipurpose space which provides instructional and lab space. Students now have access to 12 welding booths and other outside workspaces in the adjoining yard.
