LAKE HAVASU CITY – A ceremony to recognize volunteer public safety service was held at the Oct 10 Lake Havasu City Council meeting. Sgt. Lorne Jackson and Ofcr. Josh Banuelos both received awards for their bravery during a confrontation with an opponent.  Police department volunteers were also recognized for their unselfish time and dedication in protecting our community. KINGMAN – Six citizens have applied for possible appointment should the Board of Supervisors vote next Monday to transition the Golden Valley Improvement District from a county governed entity to domestic administration. Those who’ve applied for initial appointment to a domestic board whose members would be elected in the future include Brittany Bean, Jennifer Esposito, Danielle Ohle-Keck, Butch Meriweather, Stephen Tygard and Dennis German. KINGMAN – Four incumbents and at least nine other citizens have picked up nominating packets at Kingman City Hall to attempt to qualify candidacy and pursue campaigns for office in the 2024 election cycle. Vice Mayor Cherish Sammeli was the last current office holder to indicate prospective candidacy in the municipal races. Sammeli joins members Jamie Stehly and Keith Walker in pursuit of new four-year terms on Council.
