ADOT coming to Kingman Sept. 15

KINGMAN – Mayor Ken Watkins said it’ll be the City of Kingman’s pleasure to host the Arizona State Transportation Board’s monthly meeting on Sept. 15. The state board will address its agenda when the meeting convenes at 9:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors auditorium at 700 W. Beale St. Watkins expressed interest in the possibility of the city hosting an informal dinner reception to welcome state board and staff members the night before the meeting, as it did when the Board last met in Kingman a few years ago. City tables scooter proposal

KINGMAN – The City Council expects more information from the company proposing a new four-year revenue sharing agreement to place its rental scooters back on the streets of Kingman. Several dozen of the rental scooters were pulled from the community last month following expiration of the initial agreement with Bird Rides, Inc. Bird Executive Kylee Floodman told council members Sept. 5 that the Kingman-placed scooters provided nearly 10,000 rides over some 18 months. DAMA, HVINA water rights apps can be submitted online

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) has  announced that applications can now be submitted online for Grandfathered Rights in the Douglas Active Management Area (DAMA) and Irrigation Authorities in the Hualapai Valley Irrigation Non-Expansion Area (HVINA). For the DAMA, applications for Irrigation Grandfathered Rights, Type 1 Non-Irrigation Rights, and Type 2 Non-Irrigation Rights must be submitted by March 1, 2024. There will be no exceptions to this deadline. KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is taking next steps in its search for short- and long-term administrative leadership following the 6-1 Council vote that terminated the employment agreement for former city manager Ron Foggin on Aug. 15. FT. MOHAVE – A former Fort Mojave Mesa Fire District governing board member is targeting three current members for recall. The Mohave County Elections Department confirms that Keith Parker picked up recall papers on Aug. 31. Parker proposes the ouster of Chairman Michael Bell and board members Larry Morse and Catherine Lopez-Rajaniemi for their initial Aug. 22 vote to terminate the employment contract of Fire Chief Chris Pardi.
