KINGMAN – A thunderous burst of applause followed the last Mohave County Board of Supervisor’s vote rejecting rezoning requested for development of a heavily opposed renewable energy project north of Kingman. The effort to employ solar and hydrogen energy production over some 12,000 acres north of Valle Vista and south of Red Lake has drawn little if any public support, but overwhelming protest during a series of meetings. Kingman woman reappointed to national board

WASHINGTON, D.C. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and U.S. Forest Service (USFS)has announced selections for the National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board. The agencies selected two new members and re-appointed a third to the board, which advises both agencies on the management and protection of wild free-roaming horses and burros on public lands. The National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board is comprised of nine members of diverse expertise and backgrounds who provide guidance and recommendations to the BLM and USFS involving wild free-roaming horses and burros on public lands. KPD awarded ALEAP reaccreditation

KINGMAN – In September of 2019 the Kingman Police Department (KPD) was one of the first agencies in Arizona to be accredited through the AZ Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP).  The accreditation program requires that accredited agencies undergo annual review and a formal on-site visit every four years. During the week of August 9, Captain Larry Jones, of the Page Police Department, and Commander Jason Christofferson, of the Peoria Police Department, performed the ‘on-site’ assessment of KPD.  During the on-site visit the assessors are given full access to agency policies, procedures, training program and staff.       On September 14, during the…
