GOLDEN VALLEY – The Golden Valley Fire District Board of Directors is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a vacancy on the Fire Board.  Interim Board Member term will be from the date of appointment until December 1, 2022. Applicants must be registered to vote and be residents within the Golden Valley Fire District Boundaries.  Interested parties should submit a letter of interest to the Board of Directors.  The deadline for all applications is March 13, 2020.  At the regular scheduled board meeting on March 25, 2020 the Board may go into executive session to conduct an interview process. Statewide Nevada gaming up; Laughlin holding its own

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has posted numbers for the final month of 2019. And the statewide gaming gain was much better than a smaller increase enjoyed by casinos along the Colorado River in Laughlin. Laughlin clubs earned a December gaming win of about $33 million, up 1.1% from the same month in 2018. A statewide gaming win just above $1-  in December represented a gain of almost 6% from the same month the previous year.

Smith has announced USDA has invested $1.6 million in Wecom’s high-speed broadband infrastructure project. “Through USDA’s ReConnect Program, more than 1,400 Arizonians living in rural communities will get access to the latest broadband technology that will connect them to opportunities in education, health care and economic development…” Smith said.
