LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – Lake Havasu City welcomes David Ruppel, C.M., a consultant with Aviation Management Consulting Group (AMCG), who will serve as Interim Airport Manager while the city conducts a national recruitment for its next airport manager.
The city contracted for interim airport management services to provide specialized aviation expertise during the transition. Ruppel will oversee day-to-day operations and work with city leadership to review airport policies, agreements, and current projects.
Ruppel has more than 15 years of airport management experience, with expertise in facilities management, safety management systems, operational risk management, project management, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, budgeting, and operational efficiencies.
“David’s experience allows us to maintain continuity at the airport while also taking a comprehensive look at our current operations,” City Manager Jess Knudson said. “His work will help address immediate priorities and prepare the airport for its next phase of leadership.”
Ruppel previously provided interim airport leadership for several municipalities, including Boulder Municipal Airport and Northern Colorado Regional Airport, and served as Director of the Colorado Air and Space Port. He is also a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives.
