LHC PD earns accreditation

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department (LHCPD) has complied with dozens of benchmarks to achieve accreditation status. City manager Jess Knudson said the agency and its leaders worked hard last year to pass each of the necessary 174 standards.

Knudson said the LHCPD is the 4th agency to earn the elevated status designation through the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. Compliance, he said, is important going forward.

“The work is far from over. There is an ongoing process of annual reporting and information gathering to share with the commission to make sure we maintain the status,” Knudson said. `” accreditation process exists to establish a standard of professionalism for law enforcement in the state of Arizona.”

Knudson commended Chief Dan Doyle and Captain Troy Sterling for their accreditation effort.
