KINGMAN – In an effort to streamline customer service, the Kingman Municipal Court and City Attorney’s office will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and closed on Fridays, beginning March 30. The court would like the public to know that walk-In wthat are currently being heard on Thursdays and Fridays will be held at 9 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning March 30. MOHAVE COUNTY – District 3 Supervisor Buster Johnson thinks Mohave County should consider reforming its budgeting process to better manage resources and maximize efficiency. Johnson is asking the Board to support his push for each department to prepare budgets in two-year intervals. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department (LHCPD) has complied with dozens of benchmarks to achieve accreditation status. City manager Jess Knudson said the agency and its leaders worked hard last year to pass each of the necessary 174 standards. Knudson said the LHCPD is the 4th agency to earn the elevated status designation through the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Attorney Matt Smith could face the first ballot box challenge of his political career this year. One of Smith’s former employees, Bryan Whitney, visited the county elections office on Friday, February 7, declaring his intent to run for county attorney. BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead Fire Department (BHCFD), in partnership with the Kingman Fire Department hosted a Leadership Development Academy February 3 through 7. A total of 41 participants from surrounding departments were in attendance. The five-day academy was a joint effort to focus on Leadership and Management Training for Supervisors of the area Fire Departments.
