KINGMAN – The head of a Kingman based law firm has declared intent to run for Mohave County Attorney. Bryan Whitney visited the county elections office last Friday, indicating interest in challenging county attorney Matt Smith. The incumbent has been with the county attorney’s office for 32 years, half of them as its leader. Smith has run unopposed each time previously. Two more Kingman area residents have declared intent to run for District 4 Mohave County supervisor. BULLHEAD CITY – Teachers across the nation often struggle with tight budgets, making it difficult to accomplish specific tasks or projects. Fortunately, educators at schools in the Mohave Electric Cooperative service area enjoy the benefits of the cooperative model, which includes among its principles a concern for community. This principle gave rise to the Classroom Grants program 25 years ago. Offering treatment for opioid addiction, there are 46 Community Medical Services clinics nationwide including Kingman, which opened September 2019 and Lake Havasu City, open since August 2019. The clinics administer methadone treatments and provide Naloxone for overdose treatment.
