31 confirmed virus cases in Mohave County

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Department of Public Health (MCDPH)-Nursing staff was notified this evening of a positive COVID-19 case in the Lake Havasu City service area. The individual, who is in the 20-44 year-old age range, is in isolation and recovering at home.  It has yet to be determined if the case is travel-related, epidemiologically-linked to another identified case, or the result of community spread. Public Health nurses are currently in the process of conducting the contact investigation. This new case brings to 31 the total positives cases in the county. County to procure masks for hospitals, first responders

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Department of Public Health in conjunction with the Mohave County Department of Procurement is working on procuring at least a half a million 3-ply surgical face masks that will be distributed to local hospitals and first responders.  According to Supervisor Buster Johnson, due to the shortage of personal protection equipment (PPE), having the County secure the order will save money for all parties involved and hopefully guarantee the shipment.  “Our Procurement Department identified a vendor that can provide the surgical masks with the quickest turn around; however, in order to make the purchase we…

Bullhead City marks 29th virus case for county

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Department of Public Health (MCDPH)-Nursing staff was notified today of a positive COVID-19 case in the Bullhead City service area. The individual is in the 65+ age range, and is isolated and recovering at home. This case is epidemiologically-linked to a previous case. County nurses are currently in the process of the contact investigation. This new case brings to 29 the total positives cases in the county. There are now 14 positive confirmed cases in the Lake Havasu City area, including the two deaths, eleven in Kingman, and four in Bullhead City.

City employee lauded for life-saving efforts

KINGMAN –The City of Kingman is recognizing Utility Billing team member Janice B. for her life saving efforts. Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin, along with Fire Chief Jake Rhoades, and Utility Billing and Finance members presented Janice with a “Life Saving Award.” While helping a customer pay her utility bill over the phone, Janice immediately noticed that something was wrong with the customer, because of her impaired speech. Board approves renewable energy plant for Ft. Mohave

FT. MOHAVE – Elite Southwest Holdings will develop a solar power project in Fort Mohave following separate actions at the April 6 Mohave County Board of Supervisors meeting. The board voted 4-1 in support of rezoning and a general plan amendment required for the 32-megawatt facility that will provide power for the Bullhead City-based Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC).
