MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Monday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 70 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. There are also five deaths from previously reported cases. Three are from the Lake Havasu City service area. One was in the 50-59 year age range; one was 60-69; one was 80-89. MOHAVE COUNTY – Recent weeks of sharp increases in COVID-19 cases in Mohave County slightly subsided last week. Department of Public Health Director Denise Burley told the Board of Supervisors Monday that she hopes the downward trend continues. “We can be happy to say that we’ve seen a decrease from previous weeks for the first time in months. KINGMAN – With the City of Kingman’s Council approved new fiscal year budget underway, exciting initiatives were approved to help our local business community recover during the recent economic downturn. Among the budgeted items are three fast-tracked programs launched in July of 2020; the Façade Improvement Program, the Parklet/Pedlet Incentive Program with $90,000 in combined funds, and $10,000 for a Kingman Tourism Facebook Marketing Grant. There is one new confirmed death in the Kingman service area, a 90+ person from a previously reported case. Of the 30 new cases, 15 are in the Bullhead City service area. KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is taking a proactive approach in seeking voter approval in November to liquidate property it will not control until sometime next spring. The city council voted July 21 to bring the question to the people in the upcoming general election. City Manager Ron Foggin said the city can save about $30,000 by piggybacking the Kingman question on the November 3 general election ballot rather than having a stand-alone election early next year. “We’re just excited to be able to have this done now instead of having a special election early next year,” Foggin said….
