KINGMAN – After starting the Kingman Area Literacy Program (KALP) seven years ago, director Chris Meisenheimer is retiring. “I started this program because teaching people to read is one of the best ways to lift them out of poverty,” said Meisenheimer. “Literacy’s value cannot be underestimated.” KALP tutors provide free tutoring to people of all ages, abilities and needs. Tutors have helped students with reading, writing, math, GED, English as a second language, and citizenship tests. City of Kingman looking to change zoning codes

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman Community Development Division has been working with Lisa Wise consulting for the past year to update the City of Kingman Zoning Code and expand the Downtown Historic Overlay District. The anticipated date of project completion is December 2020 or January 2021 and the city encourages public participation and input. Report card out on COVID-19 case positivity rate

MOHAVE COUNTY – Gyms, bars and some water business enterprises that have remain shuttered during the COVID-19 pandemic could get a reprieve Thursday. Mohave County has already met two of three benchmarks allowing them to reopen under various restrictions and regulations. “What we haven’t been meeting is the percent positivity number put out by the state.
