Bullhead man charged with terrorist threats; explosives confiscated

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Police arrested Bryan Christopher Lee Chambers, 23, of Bullhead City, on charges related to making terrorist threats after an investigation revealed he was constructing an explosive device inside his residence.

On Wednesday, May 6, Bullhead City Police detectives were alerted by the Yuma Prison Investigation Division regarding recorded inmate phone conversations referencing a family member, identified as Bryan Chambers, making a bomb.

Detectives immediately began an investigation. A review of the audio prison transcripts revealed conversations between the inmate and Bryan Chambers discussing hiding firearms and drugs prior to the inmate’s release from prison and probation visiting their home. Additional conversations referenced an explosive device, including statements made by Chambers mentioning the Laughlin Bridge.

Based on this information, a temporary felony warrant was issued for making terroristic threats.

Police began surveillance on Chambers, and on May 7 at 5:30 a.m., Bullhead City Police arrested Chambers in the 2500 block of Highway 95. Chambers was found to be in possession of cocaine.

With assistance from the Bullhead City Police Department Bomb Squad, Explosives K9 Wilbur from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, Explosives K9 Reddick from BNSF Railway Police, detectives executed a search warrant at Chambers’ residence in the 700 block of Church Street. During the search, officers located an explosive device and explosive-making materials, along with additional cocaine.

Bryan Chambers was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman on charges of making terrorist threats, possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia.
