MOHAVE COUNTY – The Kingman Police Department (KPD) is providing additional details of an officer-involved shooting that injured no one and resulted in the arrest of the suspect in Dolan Springs on Wednesday, Dec. 20. Deputy Police Chief Joel Freed said Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) detectives were searching the rural community for Edward Angelo regarding arrest warrants and his alleged involvement in several violent crimes. Freed said detectives spotted Angelo about 9:00 a.m. when he fled on ATV. Arizona’s bald eagles are back, and they will soon be preparing for the next generation of eagles at breeding sites statewide.  To assist with the state’s continued bald eagle population growth, the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) encourages outdoor recreationists, aircraft pilots, drone operators and motorized paragliders to do their part by not disturbing the state’s 97 eagle breeding areas.  To protect breeding attempts, some portions of public land and water areas will be temporarily closed to help these majestic animals and ensure even more young eagles take to the skies this spring.  “Arizona’s bald eagles are hard at…

Mom of deceased son, abused daughter takes prison plea

KINGMAN – A Kingman woman is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections after pleading guilty in the abuse of her two teenagers, one who died and the other who was placed in care of the state following the discovery of her discarded brother’s body in early 2022. Amber-Leah Valentine, 42, pleaded guilty Monday, Dec. 18 to separate counts of felony child abuse by domestic violence.
