LAKE HAVASU CITY – It’s always a shock to the system that a new year is beginning, but what about those shivering chills that could go along with it? The 51st Annual Polar Bear Day is back.   The Havasu Boat and Ski Club will be hosting the annual Lake Havasu Polar Bear Day. Dear Editor, In the past 4 years, college enrollment in Arizona has fallen from 55.3% of high school graduates to 47.3%. In 2021, only 6.5 million male students enrolled in a postsecondary institution whereas 8.9 million women enrolled. Getting crafy at Lake Havasu library

LAKE HAVASU CITY – ‘Twas the week before Christmas as the Lake Havasu Library was still providing arts and crafts classes that everyone could enjoy. Knotty Knitters is a group whose crafts can be seen all over Lake Havasu. For the past 11 years, they’ve yarn bombed objects around town with knitted materials. Their displays can be viewed at McCulloch Blvd locations like The Kaws and Grace Arts.   Over the years, the group has donated their unique crafts to local nonprofits such the Elks Lodge and the Havasu Community Health Foundation. The library hosted another creative event the following day with their adult…

BLM to gather wild burros in the Black Mountain Herd Management Area 

KINGMAN – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will begin a wild burro gather on January 8, 2024, in the Black Mountain Herd Management Area located west of Kingman, in Mohave County. The gather will remove up to 1,000 excess wild burros to address herd health and impacts to rangeland health, wildlife habitat and roadway safety concerns associated with herd overpopulation. BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City police said speed and possible impairment are factors of focus in the investigation of a traffic accident that seriously injured a local man. Sergeant Eddie Espinoza said an officer was southbound on highway 95 when a BMW motorcycle passed at a high rate of speed at about 9:20 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24.
