13th Annual Balloon Festival promises exciting fun for all ages

LAKE HAVASU CITY – For the past 12 years, Havasu Balloon Festival has been bringing their balloon festival and fair to the community.  The three-day event will have many photo opportunities available for balloons ascending to the skies.  Spectators will have a chance to get up close views of balloons as they lift off.  There is an entry fee to access the carnival.  The rides cost $1 for four tickets. Police seek fatal hit-and-run vehicle

GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is trying to determine who is responsible for a hit-and-run pedestrian fatality in Golden Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Deputies responded at 7:41 p.m. to a report of a male subject lying in the roadway at the corner of Chino Dr. and Adobe Rd. MCSO spokesman Anita Mortensen said James Douglas McDaniel, 69, Golden Valley, was dead at the scene. She was born March 1, 1945, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to parents William and Dorothy (Fox) David.
