Police seek fatal hit-and-run vehicle

GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is trying to determine who is responsible for a hit-and-run pedestrian fatality in Golden Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Deputies responded at 7:41 p.m. to a report of a male subject lying in the roadway at the corner of Chino Dr. and Adobe Rd.

MCSO spokesman Anita Mortensen said James Douglas McDaniel, 69, Golden Valley, was dead at the scene. She said Detectives were summoned as it appeared that McDaniel had been struck by an unknown vehicle.

“The involved vehicle should have significant front-end damage,” Mortensen said. “Mohave Silent Witness has offered a reward of up to $1,500 for information leading to the identification of the vehicle and driver involved in this incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office, 928-753-0753.
