KINGMAN – Some 43 people applied for the Kingman City Manager position before the Jan. 8 deadline. Human Resources Director Krista Toschlog said residents of 18 states applied for the job, a dozen of them from Arizona. Toschlog said no one from the city will see or review all of the applications, and that the preliminary work is being handled by Gov HR USA, the headhunting firm under contract to handle recruitment of the city’s top administrator. This annual event takes place on January 27 at 1 p.m. But festivities rock this gold mining town/wild burrow hangout from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Costumes and pajamas are strongly encouraged because that’s how Oatman rolls! If you and four amigos have the right stuff,…

Probation slip brings prison sentence

KINGMAN – A probation slip will result in prison for one defendant charged in a child predator sex investigation. “Sabrina” was the social media handle a Mohave County Sheriff’s detective used in a sting operation targeting sexual predators launched well before the pandemic began. More than a couple of dozen suspects from Las Vegas to Parker were charged through the law enforcement campaign that snared men seeking sex with underage females. Most defendants were convicted and sent to prison. Quinton Edwards, 28, Golden Valley, is one of a handful of the Sabrina case defendants who were afforded probation and opportunity…
