KINGMAN – A downtown Kingman fire fatality is under investigation. Details are sketchy, but Deputy Kingman Police Chief Joel Freed said a person was fatally injured when fire burned a handmade structure where Eighth Street ends in a desert area at the base of a rocky hillside. Police and other officials were observed at the fire scene Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13. The name of the victim is withheld and Freed said more information will likely be provided Tuesday, Jan. 16.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) is accepting applications for 2024 hunt permit-tags issued through the draw process for pronghorn and elk.    To apply, visit https://draw.azgfd.com/. I was recently asked what advice would I give to future generations? Here is my response. First, be grateful. Although I scarcely know much of my own family history on either side, I do know that, at least some, survived long enough for me to be here today. I cannot imagine for a moment the hardships and heartbreaks they must have experienced along the way. I have no idea how they were gifted or flawed. Certainly, they worked hard, but they also would have had passions, too. Were some skilled craftsmen, intellects, even poets? Were there artists, musicians, leaders, among…
