Kingman structure fire was fatal

KINGMAN – A downtown Kingman fire fatality is under investigation. Details are sketchy, but Deputy Kingman Police Chief Joel Freed said a person was fatally injured when fire burned a handmade structure where Eighth Street ends in a desert area at the base of a rocky hillside.

Police and other officials were observed at the fire scene Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13.

The name of the victim is withheld and Freed said more information will likely be provided Tuesday, Jan. 16.
