Family turns out for 90th birthday

Yvonne Collins celebrated her 90th birthday on May 18 at The Gardens in Kingman.  Because of COVID-19, the facility has been under quarantine since early March when she arrived there.  Thanks to the kindness of the staff, three generations of her family gathered outside her window with posters and balloons to honor her and share in her special day.

Kingman to begin striping operations

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is starting long line striping of roads starting Tuesday, May 26. Typical times will be from 5:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Crews will start with the yellow striping, and then white striping at a later date. Crews will only occupy one lane, and in most areas, drivers will be able to drive around striping vehicles, however we ask drivers to use caution around crews. Burn ban issued for Mohave County

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Board of Supervisors has issued Stage 2 fire restrictions within the entire county. Based on this direction, the City of Kingman is instituting a fire burn ban effective immediately. The ban includes the prohibition of the sale of consumer fireworks as addressed in House Bill 1158. The ban also resends any open burn permits issued by the city of Kingman within the last 30 days. No burn permit applications will be accepted until further notice.
