COVID-19 update: Four new cases in Bullhead City; one death in Kingman

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Sunday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of four COVID-19 cases and one death.  The four confirmed cases are all in the Bullhead City service area.  The one death is a person in the Kingman service area, a previously reported case in the 70-79 age range. Of the four new cases in the Bullhead City area, one is in the 60-69 year age range, is linked to another case, and the case is under investigation. Traditional indoor graduation for BHC Class of 2020

BULLHEAD CITY – The Colorado River Union High School District governing board voted unanimously Wednesday night to proceed with traditional graduation ceremonies for the district’s three high schools.  Commencement at CRUHSD’s Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse will have a variety of health and safety recommendations, including attendance restrictions. Each graduate will receive two tickets to enable social distancing, with graduates seated on the Fieldhouse floor and guests in the bleachers.  All three graduation ceremonies will be livestreamed on YouTube or another video platform for those unable to attend. Havasu dad found guilty of daughter’s death

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man who played video games and got high with a friend while his young daughter suffered fatal heat exhaustion when left unattended in a vehicle will go to the Arizona Department of Corrections for 16 years. The punishment for Ty Martin, 24, is stipulated in a plea agreement entered Friday in Mohave County Superior Court. Martin is convicted of second degree murder in the May 11, 2019 death of his 18-month old daughter.
