Sewer line extension project beginning Closures at Florence Avenue and Main Street

KINGMAN. – A project to extend a sewer line will begin at 7:00 a.m. Monday, June 15 and last through 5:00 p.m. June 19. The intersection of Florence Ave. and Main St. will be closed to traffic. Local traffic can access Florence Ave. from Fairgrounds Boulevard and Stockton Hill Road, and detours will be in place. The city also asks the traveling public to use caution when driving near and around work zones. Kingman Council, fairgrounds denied use of meeting room due to COVID-19

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Board of Supervisors voted Thursday to reject outside use of its meeting auditorium in Kingman in a manner that Mohave County has been avoiding during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A 4-0 vote denied requests for use of the expansive auditorium for upcoming meetings of the Kingman City Council and Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District Governing Board. Kingman has been limiting audience size while encouraging spatial separation at its council meetings to prevent spread of the coronavirus. Colorado River claims man’s life in drowning

BULLHEAD CITY – An Ethiopian national residing in Las Vegas drowned on the Arizona side of the Colorado River on Thursday, June 11. The name of the 24-year-old victim was withheld pending notification of kin. Bullhead City police spokeswoman said the man who couldn’t swim was wading in the river when he stepped into a deeper pool and went under in the area of casino boat docks.
