Colorado River claims man’s life in drowning

BULLHEAD CITY – An Ethiopian national residing in Las Vegas drowned on the Arizona side of the Colorado River on Thursday, June 11. The name of the 24-year-old victim was withheld pending notification of kin.

Bullhead City police spokeswoman said the man who couldn’t swim was wading in the river when he stepped into a deeper pool and went under in the area of casino boat docks. The deceased was faced down on the river bottom when recovered by a Fire Department dive team member.
