Enjoy your usual life, but vote

Occasionally we all feel like we are living in a rut. Our days and weeks are filled with the same activities and schedules. We mow grass, rake leaves, clean the house, sweep out the garage and do the same jobs. We go to the same grocery store on a certain day, wash our car at the same place and see the same people along the way. We go to the same place of worship, and read the same daily or weekly newspaper. Our lives are made up of routines, schedules and the usual. Occasionally we get bored with the usual…

County residents get mask-erade invite

MOHAVE COUTY – Passionate mask mandate debates have raged during tri state area city council, school board and other meetings and have divided friends and family through recent months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mohave County is now providing a public forum for the topic on Thursday, Oct. 22. Supervisor Gary Watson suggested a “town hall” or “public workshop” style meeting to attempt to clear up misinformation regarding the county mask policy, and how it differs from requirements that have been very contentious in area municipalities. “I think there’s a lot of people who are confused by what we want and…

Win or lose, we all lose

Dear Editor, In a tweet, President Trump instructs Treasury Secretary Mnuchin to stop negotiations on a new stimulus plan with House Speaker Pelosi until after the election. He tweeted “… immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill.” Then, presumably upon realizing the potential damage that plan might possibly inflict on his re-election prospects, (especially since he had just tweeted “Work together to get it done”), while hospitalized, he changed his tune. Now Trump would like to give $25 billion to bail out airlines as well as supporting troubled businesses. Never mind there are perhaps millions of…

Marxist model will not work out well for 21st century America

Dear Editor: The biggest problem with democracy is that an ill-informed and poorly educated electorate can vote their way into tyranny in a single election. That election is upon us. The Democratic party and its disastrous socialist ideas will destroy our wonderful, unique nation. They seek a one-party state with no room for opposing opinions. The spawn of our institutions of higher indoctrination are okay with this, the rest of us should not be. This election is not about Trump or Biden, it is about our freedom and liberty versus the Marxist model of the state making all decisions for…
