Valle Vista resident unhappy with fire service

Dear Editor, On Nov. 2, I called our local fire station in Valle Vista, which is operated by Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District (NACFD). I asked about pit fires due to the high fire alert and fire hazards due to dry vegetation. The person who answered the phone told me I was right, so I told him the location of the fire pit and he said he would look into it. My house could have burned down by then. KINGMAN – Kingman police have released more details of a barricaded subject ordeal that ended in a civilian suicide on Friday, Nov. 6. Police department spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said it was determined that Earl Hendrix, 37, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
