Mohave County has lost an admired pioneer family member. Dan Cofer Bishop, 84, passed away on December 16 at home in Kingman, Arizona. Dan was born in Kingman to Jennielee and Dan McDonald, August 21, 1936. Dan was preceded in death by his young father due to a mining accident but he was lucky to have a second father in his life, Judd Bishop. The family loved and worked on the Windmill Ranch near Wickiup where Dan grew into the role of rancher/cowboy. MOHAVE COUNTY – The coronavirus case surge in recent weeks is taxing resources and pushing bed capacity at the four primary hospitals operating in Mohave County. Department of Public Health Director Denise Burley told Mohave County supervisors Monday that a rough average of new cases has been about 1,000 for each of the last three weeks. Burley said one hospital is on cautionary status that may require shipping some patients to facilities outside the county. Vending machine burglar busted

LAKE HAVASU CITY – An investigation of a vending machine crime spree in Lake Havasu City has produced an arrest. Officers have been investigating recent thefts of money from vending machines that have been broken into around the city. Police say they identified Randy Cayton as a suspect before they located and arrested the Beaumont, California man in the 1600 block of McCulloch Blvd. N. on Dec. 17.
