Beware of children’s book, new phone

Dear Editor, There is a book out called “A Children’s Book of Demons.” Children are encouraged to draw “sigils” which dial up demons used in magic and occultism. Kids are taught how to contact real spirit entities. The book openly says the contents are demonic. It is available on Amazon. There is a new phone coming out – The Soul Phone. It is being developed by a well-funded organization called “Soul Phone Foundation”, who is committed to “an evidence-based technology” for spirit communication to talk to spirits, demons. Our Christmas Spirit

Dear Editor, Years ago, our church group was out Christmas caroling. We weren’t far from the church and our leader led us out to the back of Mr. Castle’s house to sing to he and his wife. His wife came to the door and greeted us with a smile and was gracious. We sang to her when suddenly through the window we saw her husband appear in the family room with a big towel around his body. He obviously had just gotten out of the shower. He came into his family room unknowing that 20 carolers had all eyes on…

KRMC begins monoclonal antibody therapy for COVID-19 treatment

KINGMAN – Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) has begun using monoclonal antibodies to treat high-risk COVID-19 patients. Monoclonal antibodies are proteins made in a laboratory to mimic the body’s natural immune response. With this treatment, a patient receives an intravenous (IV) infusion of the antibodies. This can enhance the patient’s ability to fight the virus that causes COVID-19. In November, The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for certain monoclonal antibody therapies. This authorization allows the therapy for COVID-positive patients with high risk for disease progression or hospitalization. Clinical trials suggest that the therapy…

Drug dealer gets 10 years

BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man who pleaded guilty in a methamphetamine case hoped he would be sentenced to a 5–7-year prison term on Friday, Dec. 18. Instead, Robert Thomas, 51, accepted a 10-year sentence. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle rejected the punishment limitations of the plea agreement, saying he thought Thomas should serve more time behind bars. Carlisle noted the defendant had 7 previous felonies when he was caught July 16 with an ounce of methamphetamine in a motel room in the 1800 block of the Arcadia Plaza. Defense attorney George Hibbeler said Thomas suffered from…

KRMC asks for public understanding and cooperation during COVID surge

KINGMAN – As COVID-19 cases continue to soar in our community, Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) is asking for the public’s help. Since October, COVID hospitalizations at KRMC have risen by record numbers. The hospital has activated surge plans to accommodate patients who require hospitalization. However, hospital staff are strained. According to Jim Wells, KRMC Chief Nursing Officer, “Our doctors and nurses are exhausted after many months of dealing with COVID. Some are getting sick themselves.” The hospital has been using some travel labor to help care for patients. But, those resources are becoming more limited as hospitals nationwide are…
