Mello, Kentch to speak at MRF meeting

KINGMAN – The public is invited to the Mohave Republican Forum (MRF) meeting on Wednesday, October 11, at 5:30 p.m. with guest speakers Sue Ann Mello, Mohave County Treasurer, and Jeanne Kentch, Mohave County Assessor. Mello and Kentch are both candidates for reelection in 2024. MRF meetings are held at the Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center, 1776 Airway Ave. #B. Gas leak under street discovered

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 10:40 a.m. on Monday, October 2, a natural gas leak was reported by Unisource in the 2400 block of S. Palo Verde. Unisource discovered a gas leak under the street and immediately shut down S. Palo Verde for safety. Crews from both Unisource and Lake Havasu Fire Department monitored the area and evacuated any affected residents. Fire Department crews remained on scene for approximately four hours while Unisource secured the leak. Lake Havasu Police and Street Departments assisted with traffic control and detoured drivers away from the hazard zone.

Five youth arrested for drive-by shooting

KINGMAN – Kingman police report the arrests of five male teenagers for their alleged involvement in a drive by shooting incident that injured no one. Investigation began Sept. 22 following a report of a drive by shooting in the 400 block of Golconda Ave. Deputy Police Chief Joel Freed said officers located multiple shell casings, fired from weapons of two different calibers, at the crime scene. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Public Works Department†has recently received full accreditation by the American Public Works Association (APWA) for the fifth ntime. This accreditation formally verifies and recognizes that the agency is in full compliance with the recommended management practices set forth in APWAís†Public Works Management Practices Manual. Open to all governmental agencies with responsibilities for public works functions, initial accreditation from APWA is for a four-year period, during which time semi-annual updates will be required to demonstrate continuing compliance.
