MOHAVE COUNTY – Abigail Jaimes-Gomez, an Educational Developer at Mohave Community College, was selected as a 2023 Donald H. Wulff Diversity Fellow. The fellowship strives to increase and support participation of individuals from historically underrepresented groups in the field of educational development. KINGMAN – Culver’s of Kingman, AZ, recently received several prestigious awards at the Culver’s 2024 annual convention. The restaurant was the recipient of the Ruth Award for consistently demonstrating superior hospitality. Kingman resident and Owner/Operator Gordon Streeter was presented these awards at a ceremony in Orlando, FL. The Ruth Award is a tribute to Ruth Culver, the chain’s co-founder and mentor in providing genuine guest hospitality. Amateur radio club helps with emergencies

LAKE HAVASU CITY – When a mobile device dies or loses its signal, amateur radios will still work, which could come in handy for communication alternatives. The London Bridge Amateur Radio Association (LBARA) was formed in 1981.  Also known as ham radio, they are a nonprofit corporation that is actively involved with the community’s projects. The group provides radio communication for London Bridge days parades, walk-a-thons, MS charity bike rides, and much more.   They maintain mobile go boxes along with three communication repeaters needed for the Lake Havasu region.
