BLM moves to cashless system at Virgin River Campground 

The Virgin River Campground in the BLM Arizona Strip Field Office area has gone 100% cashless for all campsites at this popular recreation area. “For visitor convenience and to eliminate security issues related to handling and counting cash, we are going to a 100% cashless system through Recreation.gov at the Virgin River Campground,” said Randy Beckstrand, Arizona Strip Assistant Field Manager. There are 18 multi-day camp sites on the upper loop that can be reserved in advance with online payment at https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/10086109. KINGMAN – A teenage Kingman girl is permanently injured from a history of abuse that claimed the life of her brother and landed both of her parents, and two other adults, in prison. The girl, now 14, blinded in one eye and emotionally scarred by violence within her home, is being raised by her mother’s brother and aunt. The victim’s mother, Amber-Leah Valentine, 42, said nothing at her Feb. 20 sentencing hearing for two child abuse convictions achieved through plea agreement. Marine Corps League continues to maintain, upgrade Veterans Memorial Park

KINGMAN – The Kingman Marine Corps League has led the way when building and maintaining the downtown Veterans Memorial Park. At a recent meeting the membership of the league chose to fly a new flag over the Kingman Veterans Memorial Park. The League consists of veterans from Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan. They wanted to try and fly one flag, year round, that would honor all veterans. The images symbolized on this new flag provided one flag that appears to accomplish this mission. Lane Striping to Begin Next Week

KINGMAN, Ariz. – The City of Kingman will be working to update lane striping throughout the community starting on Monday, February 26th. There will be multiple crews working from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. to complete this project. During this time there will be travel delays due to intermittent lane restrictions.
