KINGMAN – Carin Laughrey and Arizona Furniture will be hosting a fundraising event for local missionary Dianne Smith on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Kingman Arizona Furniture Warehouse, 3857 E. Andy Devine Ave. Smith has recently returned to the U.S. from the Mission Fields of Cambodia. She will be available during the fundraiser to talk about her journey in the midst of diverse cultures in Phnom Penh, while standing for justice in the fight to abolish human trafficking. KINGMAN – Mohave Community Orchestra has announced their 2019 Autumn/Fall two-concert series. The orchestra is comprised of about 35 musicians of all ages, including the youngest, 11-year-old home school student Eliana Allen and the oldest, 85-year-old practicing physician Dale Parry. All of the performances are scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturdays; Oct. 26 and Dec. 7, at the Kingman High School Bulldogs’ Aguilar Auditorium, located at 4182 Bank Street. GRAND CANYON – Grand Canyon National Park invites the public to celebrate the 10th anniversary of National Fossil Day and the 26th anniversary of National Public Lands Day fee-free on Sept. 28.  This year, a special celebration of National Fossil Day featuring the rich paleontological heritage of Grand Canyon is being held here as one of the park’s commemorative centennial events.
